Zannah's Coloring Contest
UPDATE: THE COLORING CONTEST WINNER IS LATEROSE03!
I've seen a number of others do this, and I figured I'd have a go at it as well. =D I'm holding a Coloring Contest!
In the Gallery section of my website there is a Coloring Book Gallery. This holds full sized (printable) pieces of line art I've done, licensed under a Creative Commons - Share Alike License (meaning it's cool if you print, color, and repost them so long as you credit me as the original artist). To help promote this new feature and Creative Commons in general, I am holding a contest of my own. Here are the steps to follow:
|
1. Visit the Coloring Book Gallery and pick a piece. You may use any piece in this gallery. I will not limit this to one specific image. Just choose one you like. (click the thumbnail, then the intermediate image to get the full-sized image, then right-click (ctrl-click for a Mac) and save)
2. Color your chosen image any way you like. Both digital and hand colored entries are perfectly acceptable, especially since the pieces are sized to be printed out.
3. You can either email me your entry (zannah at rainbowsaber dot com) or post it to DeviantArt and send me a Note about it (send to rainbowsaber).
4. You are welcome to color more than one piece, though all multiple entries will be counted as "one" when judged. If you wish, you can specify which piece you think came out 'best'.
5. Entries will be judged by myself, and one or more impartial friends. (On that note, the judges MAY submit entries, but those entries will not be permitted to participate in the final judging. Judges cannot win the contest.)
The contest will run through September 15th, or roughly a month's time.

The Results:
Well, I did say it was a contest, didn't I? *chuckles*
1. I will keep a running tally of the entrants posted here and to my DA page throughout the contest, with links their their respective images.
2. All entries received, regardless of the winner, will be displayed in a special gallery on my Website, complete with credits and links to each colorist if so desired.
3. The winning piece will be used as the special gallery's Featured Image.
4. The winner will receive a free One Character Color Commission w/ Background from me once the judging is concluded. It will be on 9"x12" sketch paper, colored with Prisma Markers, or digitally with Photoshop at their choice. If the winner is located in the US or Canada, I will even eat the shipping cost and send them the original piece (sorry, international folks, but it's a bit much to send things overseas, so you'll have to be content with a digital copy).
So that's it! Feel free to contact me if there are any questions. Otherwise, happy coloring!
